Hi, Everybody: Hope you can make it to our EP MEETING this week, Saturday, November 10th, 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the Flyaway Bus Terminal 2nd Floor Community Meeting Room, 7610 Woodley Avenue (NE Corner of Saticoy and Woodley in Lake Balboa. Plenty of free parking in the spaces out front closest to Woodley Ave., and come inside and take the elevator, or the steps out front.
We'll put together a MINI GO-KIT IN A NOTEBOOK as a holiday gift idea, as well as making one for yourself. Great to grab as you're dashing out the door if you have to evacuate suddenly!!!
Also, we'll have our second dvd presentation from Dr. Joe Alton and his wife, Advanced Research Nurse Practitioner Amy Alton, two giants in the field of medical emergency preparedness. This month's presentation is on PANDEMICS -- what they are, where they come from, and how to prepare for them. What to do when the ambulance is NOT coming and there's NO Doctor or Hospital available -- and we're the ones responsible for the health and welfare of your "tribe", be it family, or neighborhood! We're going to start right at 9:00 AM, so be on time, and be sure to bring pen and paper for notes!
Don't forget our Sunday Morning Lake Balboa Amateur Radio Net, every Sunday, 9:00 AM, Simplex 145.570. How far can we transmit? On what equipment and power? Who hears us? All licensed hams are invited! Also, our FRS/GMRS/Walkie-Talkie check-in is every Sunday, 10:00 AM, Channel 15, or 17 if 15 is busy. An easy and great way for EVERYBODY to communicate after a disaster! Quick and easy to do -- 5 to 10 minutes.
