Lake Balboa Neighborhood Council Hosting a Free Community CPR/AED and First Aid Training Class

Saturday, February 18th at 10:am

If you are a parent, grandparent, babysitter, or any other caregiver, we invite you to take part in the Free Community CPR/AED and First Aid training class hosted by the Health & Public Safety Committee of your Lake Balboa Neighborhood Council.
This training class is especially designed to provide CPR/AED, First Aid and Choking relief training for Infants, Children as well as Adults.
Children of all ages often swallow things they shouldn’t. Knowing what to do in these types of emergencies and knowing how to perform CHOKING RELIEF and CPR on a child or infant is critical for anyone who watches infants or small children.
For Adults, recognizing the signs and responding to victims of Sudden Cardiac Arrest can mean the life or death difference of someone you know.
In this class, you’ll learn how to : Evaluate the scene of an emergency to minimize risk; Determine the victim’s needs in an emergency; Know when to call 911; Identify the signs of choking instantly in victims of all ages and learn to perform the latest CPR/AED life-saving techniques.
All training is American Heart Association approved and performed by AHA Certified trainers. All training is FREE to meeting attendees. Optional CPR/AED/First Aid Certification will be available at the end of the training for all who want or need Proof of Training. Special certification pricing to all attendees: $25/Adult (normally $55); $10/Teen or young adult (normally $35). Certification is valid for 2-years; Cash/check/charge accepted.

MEETING DATE: Saturday, February 18th; LOCATION: The Flyaway – 7610 Woodley Ave – 2nd Floor Meeting Room; CLASS STARTS: 10 a.m. (2 – 2.5 hours); FREE PARKING: in spaces in front of the Flyaway building; FREE REFRESHMENTS and FREE I LOVE LAKE BALBOA T-shirts (while supply lasts).
