Hi, Everybody: This Saturday, December 10th, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, we’ll hold our last Lake Balboa NC EP Meeting of the year at the Flyaway Bus Terminal in the 2nd Floor Community Room. That’s located at 7610 Woodley Ave., (NE Corner of Saticoy and Woodley) in Lake Balboa. Plenty of FREE PARKING out front in the spaces closest to Woodley Ave. GO INSIDE and take the elevator at the north end of the building, or the steps outside the building.
Captain Chris Winn, LAFD CERT Commander, will be our guest speaker. He’ll bring us up to date on the latest CERT accomplishments and plans for the new year. This is a great time to ask all those questions about CERT you’ve been accumulating. (See attached Agenda for suggestions.) And, we’ll talk about our Lake Balboa NC CERT classes scheduled to begin on March 2nd for 7 consecutive Thursday nights at Lemay Street Elementary School right here in Lake Balboa. Remember — this is 17-1/2 hours of FREE TRAINING, taught by LAFD Firefighter and CERT Instructor Susan Jensen. If you haven’t had a CERT Class in 3 years or less, it’s time to refresh your training and practice the skills needed to help your community, neighbors and family in a disaster. You’ll meet some great folks while learning so much useful information. Get your name on the sign-up list quickly!
Time to celebrate our accomplishments for the year and plan for what we want to do NEXT year! Linda and Sandy really need your input on this, so while we’re celebrating with a glass of egg nog and a holiday cookie, lets put our heads together and brainstorm some plans for 2017!
And don’t forget that EP items and classes make the most appreciated holiday gifts! 😉
Looking forward to seeing each of you this Saturday, and I hope you all get to spend the holidays with those you love. Hug them at every opportunity, and I wish you all health, safety, and happiness for the new year!
